My name is Charlotte James and I live with my partner Dave, our baby son and our cats in a village close to Peterhead in Aberdeenshire, Scotland (UK).

I have had cats all my life and I first came across the Norwegian Forest Cat breed in 1998, fell in love with them and have never looked back.

I am a very small hobby breeder of Norwegian Forest Cats and was granted my FIFe prefix Svartalfheims in March 2006.

My cats are all very much loved family pets and so they live in the house with us and have their very own cat room that doubles up as a nursery when we have kittens. As we had a baby in 2009 the plans for the new cat garden have had to be put on hold for now however we plan to build them a lovely enclosed cat garden in the next few years with a purpose built cat house, their climbing frames, paddling pool and other outdoor toys so they can play, exercise and get plenty of fresh air in a safe and secure environment.

I chose the prefix Svartalfheims as in Norse mythology Svartalfheim was the land of the dark elves and it was a solid black Norwegian Forest Cat that caused me to fall in love with the breed. A fully mature solid black Norwegian Forest Cat neuter male in full winter coat is the most wonderful sight to see and really quite breathtaking. It therefore comes as no surprise to those who know me that my queen is solid black :-)

I aim to breed healthy and happy cats of excellent type and size with the wonderful temperament that Norwegian Forest Cats are known for.

All of my cats are FeLV and FIV negative (last tested Summer 2009).
